My ceramics journey began as a bid for an analog activity to downshift from the pace of everyday life.

Hundreds of hours were spent in front of the wheel before I ever produced a vessel that I would be proud to give as a gift or place in my own home. However, this was not discouraging— in fact, it proved that I had found a practice where I enjoyed the process as much as the product.

The ampersand serves as a proxy for my name— the same three letters rearranged— but more importantly represents connection, continuation, and the idea that one thing can lead naturally to another. & is new, unending, ever-changing. This felt fitting for a practice that began as a personal hobby and became something I wanted to share.

Each vessel is thrown, trimmed, and glazed by hand. I create functional forms and choose colors meant to be enjoyed every day. I hope you love them as much as I have loved making them.
